Vintage Boots

I must say I like these extremely high heeled laced boots with quite short toe box. They remind me those 50s fetish pictures with Bettie Page and other pinups.

Dita in Corset

For those who are fed up with stiletto heels, here is another popular fetish subject, the thight lacing corset.
This quite long (but not complete) TV except presents an overview about the corset along the centuries, with famous wasp-waists of the past and the present, and first of all the prettiest of the pretty, Dita Von Teese. Her images are breathtaking as usual, see previous posts.

Red Patent 6" Heel Pumps

Browsing for fetish shoes news and pics, I came across a few YouTube clips, mostly by user LIFETISHstyle, featuring these beautiful and extremely high red stilettos by the well known German firm Elite-Heels.
By the way, there is a very similar model on sale by another well known e-shop, Italianheels.com, so that I wonder if it isn't actually the same shoe.
Can anybody help solve this mistery?

Christina Aguilera's Candyman

Will the Swing be the fashion of this summer? It would seem so, the track by Christina Aguilera really rocks, by now used also in italian mobile telephones ads, and the video is a masterpiece, a deluge of vintage citations, with the music that remembers the era of Glenn Miller, Big Bands and boogie-woogie. The clip production is simply perfect in every detail, the photography is soft and the colors saturated as in 40's movies, not to mention the choreographies, special effects, setting, make-up, costumes and obviously the shoes, carefully selected from Christian Louboutin's last collections, of which Christina is known to be an affectionate fan.
She sings, dances and moves with great class and is gorgeous, I would say (a little malignantly) much better than natural, in her white uniform and her hair dyed in three different colors.
Take a look at this “The Making of” in two parts, because the job that they made deserves a little free promotion.

RoSa Update

Many of you will remember a previous post about "The Life and Adventures" of my friends Roger and Sarah Adams of RoSa Shoes from Brighton, UK. Not only they've made the pointiest shoes on earth, now they are also making the highest, thinnest and curviest of heels.
And what about "Yummy Mummy" Sarah? I imagine she got a little bored from collecting orders and filling bills, so that she must have decided to become an internet star in the meantime. Her pictures and videos are literally invading the World Wide Web, and the audience seem to be enthusiastic...

Stiletto Sluts

This is a quite long except from Peter W. Czernich's Stiletto Sluts, recently re-edited in DVD by Marquis Video, where Dita Von Teese and her Mistress wear many gorgeous high stiletto heel and platform shoes.
I was a little bit uncertain before publishing this video, but then I decided that the video is quite acceptable, and when Dita is involved I can't say no.

Most famous designers are proposing impossibly high platform shoes and sandals for this Spring-Summer. As an example, these Emilio Pucci 5 1/2" sculpture platforms with transparent vynil upper are on sale at Zappos Couture for little less than $700.
Since it's always fun to play the Fashion vs Fetish game, here is a little YouTube video showing a fetish model wearing some different but still remarkable (and maybe cheaper) skyscraper high platforms. By the way, don't see why this video is flagged as inappropriate.

Last Boots

Winter, if it ever begun, is to finish. Boots bought on sale are still sported around for a few more weeks, and the latest models are bought at bargain price for the next year. Will summer boots be the trend as it was last year? I doubt so, browsing magazines and web sites only platform sandals and open-toe slingbacks are seen.

After staying (maybe too much) on Dita Von Teese and her wedding problems, let's go back, so to speak, to the source: she, Bettie Page, the mother of all pin-ups. The pretest is The Notorious Bettie Page, whose exit in Italy was many times announced but never fixed, while in America the movie is already archived. As long as we heard, director Mary Harron (American Psycho) put in scene the contrast between Bettie Page character, solar, innocent and ingenuous and the sado-masochistic contour of riding crops, corsets, gags and skyscraper heels. The world of “particular tastes” pornography comes painted as a workplace like any other, with a result, according to most comments, quite plain and boring, in spite of actress Gretchen Mol good interpretation. In conclusion, the real Bettie Page is and remains an unattainable myth, distrust imitations.

Dita Always Higher

Web statistics are an amusing and instructive game. I often stop and watch the tables full of figures saying how many people come to my web site and which pages they visit, and the bulleted maps showing from which part of the world visitors arrive. Sometimes I find strange and unexpected things, for example a particular visit concentration from South Korea, from Turkey or Mexico.
One of the most interesting is the search statistics page offered by Google Sitemaps, showing which keywords visitors use to reach the website from the search engine. Many arrive on the web site simply searching “stylettos” and that's normal, but, apart from this, the most loved and most clicked is always her, Dita. Few months ago I published a blog about Dita Von Teese, and since then the fans of the famous pin-up, wife of rockstar Marilyn Manson, come everyday numerous.
Then I say: Do you want Dita? I'll give you Dita! Here's the YouTube video of a long television interview on French channel Antenne 2, where the Queen of the Burlesque appears in all her splendor, shot from several angles, absolutely elegant and well heeled.

The Devil wears Prada and dates Vatican real estate guy

They are the couple of the day, beautiful, rich and famous. She, Anne Hathaway, 24 years next November 12th, already a teen age idol in Princess Diaries, became a celebrity after Brokeback Mountain and then a real star acting with Meryl Streep in the last movie about fashion world. He, Raffaello Follieri, 28, was born in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy (the famous Holy Padre Pio home town) and is the head with his father Pasquale of a real estate group based in Park Avenue New York City, in charge of reselling buildings owned by the Catholic Church in America, thanks to solid connections with Vatican top officials and famous yet sometimes embarassing friendships.
There is enough to feed intercontinental paparazzi for a while, it sounds like the story of Stefano Ricucci and Anna Falchi, let's hope that, thanks God, this is not ending so badly... In the picture, the two are taking part in a charity funded by the Follieri Group in Nicaragua.
Anyway she's delicious and in The Devil Wears Prada, inspired by the character of US Vogue chief editor Anne Wintour, is perfect as the boss assistant, a ugly duckling who becomes swan and then flies away. The story is a little unoriginal but funny, and if not else there are a lot of beautiful shoes.

There Is Something About YouTube

The recent purchase of extremely popular video web site YouTube by Google for $1.65 billion in stock is probably one of the biggest news to date in the internet world. The site, which was started by three 20-somethings last year, is a free video warehouse that allows users (something like 100 million a day) to upload or download movies. Rumors emerged that Yahoo was in the bidding war until very close to the end. Sequoia Capital, which funded YouTube with $11.5 million, earned more than 40 times what was invested in a company founded in February 2005. Other news report of CBS, Vivendi-Universal and Sony BMG joining a new branded channel on YouTube to deliver featured content.
On the other hand News Corp-Fox, which owns MySpace, the first YouTube competitor in the web video market, didn't hide sort of unease about Google's move, given the recent agreement for hosting Google ads on the famous social networking community. Last weekend, subtle changes occurred on MySpace’s homepage and user pages to make MySpace videos much more prominent and accessible. The default user profile page now has a video section that automatically displays a video if the user has one uploaded.
In other words the web video world is exploding, and the "viral" video technology invented by YouTube is the engine of this explosion. What's this "viral" stuff? It's the ability of embedding any YouTube video in a blog or web site just as simply as this...

Stiletto Run

Berlin's Stiletto Run, held last August 19th and sponsored by Glamour Magazine, was widely reported and commented all over the press and other media. Some articles said that it was the first high heels race ever, but it isn't true. Similar races were held in Amsterdam on March 9th, and in Moscow on last July 8th. There are rumors about other races planned in July in St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk, but there's no evidence about that.
Berlin edition was won by 25-year old psychology student Nadine Sonnabend, who taped rubber strips to the bottom of her shoes, beating the other 100 specially chosen perticipants on a 100 metres track, and winning the 10,000 € prize. The heels had to be (nearly) proper stilettos, at least 7 cm high and a maximum of 1.5 wide.

Italy Four Times World Champion!

Yes we made it! The Italian team won its fourth final out of six played so far. Only Brazil now has a better score. Somebody would say that France played better, and maybe it's true, but we deserved the Cup for the way we played the previous games, especially against Germany. The semifinal between France and Portugal was a boring game, won by a small penalty against a poor team. Which image will stay as a symbol of the italian victory? Maybe that of Fabio Grosso, the humble defender coming from a minor league and now become a worldwide famous football star, or that of the unsurpassable Cannavaro raising the Cup. But I chose that one of the Zidane headbutt, maybe better representing this dramatic and bitter match, ended with penalties. Whatever Materazzi said, that was the worst way for Zizou to end a great career.
